Thredbo plays host to a myriad of monthly events throughout the year, including sporting events, competitions, local gigs, festivals and food & wine shows. Check out our Events Calendar below for details on what’s coming up next.
From first-timers to experienced professionals, the mountain caters to all ages and all levels of ability. Friday Flat is a dedicated area perfect for children and beginner practicing, offering a low-speed quad chair and ski school. The Cruiser, Basin, and Central Spur are ideal areas for intermediate skiers and snowboarders, offering a variety of different terrains and pitches. For the advanced, the mountain has a number of black runs, including Cannonball, Funnel Web and Kareela Cross.
A Thredbo tradition for over three decades, on Saturday nights, expert skiers and snowboarders light up the mountain's Supertrail on the iconic Flare Run, a magical night for families and friends, including a fireworks display. During the day, visitors can make the most of Thredbo’s various Terrain Parks, Springfree Trampolines at the Village Green, heated swimming at Thredbo Leisure Centre, and Winter Scenic Chairlift Rides for breathtaking views of Kosciuszko National Park.
Far from just a ski resort, Thredbo is an exceptional holiday destination for Summer escapes, offering a variety of outdoor adventures, not to mention exceptional shopping, dining, sightseeing, guided tours and nightlife. Explore the majestic scenery of the Snowy Mountains on a hike with an experienced tour guide, or enjoy mountain-top yoga at sunrise on a Yoga & Wellness Mountain Retreat. Thredbo Alpine Golf Course also offers a beautiful (and challenging) 9-hole round.
During school holidays families can keep kids entertained at Alpine Bobsled, a bobsled track that winds its way a full 700m down the mountain, and visit the popular School Holidays Adventure Festival, with street entertainment, adventure nights and workshops, live music, games and guest appearances. Adventurous adults can go river rafting with Alpine River Adventures, or try abseiling, fly-fishing, or hire a bike to explore over 25km of world-class mountain bike trails.
